Today, the team welcomed a new arrival as part of our fleet upgrade of Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) assets. The new CAT 336 excavator is a powerful 36-tonne machine with advanced technology that will significantly enhance our site's productivity and efficiency.

Our connection to the defence community goes back to the end of World War II when we welcomed returning Navy personnel to jobs at our bitumen plant in Matraville, Sydney. Meet Amanda Urban, Asphalt’s Logistics and Allocations Manager for Queensland and Western Australia, and the recipient of the CEO STAAR Award in 2024. Amanda's career began in the mining industry in Western Australia. When her family relocated to Brisbane, she transitioned into bitumen allocation before joining Boral in 2020 as the Bitumen Transport Supervisor. Since then, Amanda has steadily grown her career at Boral, receiving industry recognition as an Emerging Leader in 2022.

Widemere Recycling On Track to Operate 24/7

Boral’s Stab Plant at Widemere Recycling blends recycled road bases with cement and has helped pave the way for Western Sydney – from supply to major motorway construction projects, to large scale factory builds and even more recently as a major supplier to the new Western Sydney Airport. Recently, the Stab Plant received a great upgrade, benefiting our customers, with a brand-new access road ensuring our customers have a comfortable, safe and seamless experience when picking up material from the Stab Plant. The upgrade also reduces product losses and has supported our site operations licence to expand to 24/7.
